Hi All

Anyone able to get splashtop to work over 3g using a mac osx or windows vista. I can connect fine over wifi but i cannot get 3g to work. i opened the ports etc... i read the tutorials at splashtop 10x but i cannot get it to work :(

i am using fios with and actiontec wireless router.

any help is GREATLY appreciated!

having owned every mac mini from 1.66 c2d to a 2010 2.66ghz .

you need to upgrade if :

1)you game a lot.
2) If you want dual screens of 1080 p
3) if you are a handbrake freak
4) if you want a 27 inch hi end led screen with 2500 by 1400 resolution

Ahh, yeah, that sucks. Hopefully the JB comes sooner than later. I've almost been considering an iPad, but I'm just not sure I'd make enough use of it to warrant the price.

Ga I wish Bartlesville schools had at least a few macs that weren't from 1998. If only they new what potential could come of putting a little bit of creativity into the classroom instead of working on cheap Dells with outdated software. I mean the computers at my school don't even have Cd burners when I was writing the school paper they expected us to use floppy discs all the time. At least Apple finally put an Apple Store in Tulsa can't wait for friday.

Yes, I am actually doing this on here.

I need to sell my iphone in anticipation of the 3G iPhone. My Phone just came from apple today, and still has a plastic cover on it.

I knew someone would suggest that... LOL! In user accounts under my name the only thing I see is ituneshelper and some speech thing. But, would ituneshelper prevent my IMac from sleeping, I wonder?

I'm not sure. I have the same issue with my MacBook most of the time, it just won't fully sleep by itself, only the display sleeps. I have never been able to get to the root of it, although I think iTunesHelper may have had something to do with it. I got rid of it, since the only thing it does is open iTunes when an iDevice is connected.

I need to open a jpeg2000 file in Photoshop CS but it says "Embedded ICC profile in JP2 color box must contain input device profile..."

I can find plug-ins that allow me to SAVE images as jpeg2000 files, but I need to OPEN and convert one.

Anybody know where to find a plug-in or stand alone application that will allow me to convert the file into a jpg or TIFF format?

If you aren't buying it now, then your only option is to wait. When you have the money, then take a new look at the buyer's guide to see if there are any new news about the ACD.

also, im just curious, what can apple improve?

Thunderbolt, possibly with daisy-chaining.

They can mess with the layout of the modifier keys all they want, but they shouldn't mess with the layout of the input keys. Otherwise they can't really say it follows that keyboard layout.

But then apple doesn't really seem to care about its non-US customers very much. for all their support for standards, apple does have some really odd exceptions. if you are familiar enough with how it should be, you mught be well-served by a piece of software that remaps the keyboard layout key by key... but i don't see one. i guess grin and bear it is the best advice :D

I have my iMac at home set for screen sharing ... In the network preferences I see something that says: to connect type ssh (followed by some numbers) .. How do I connect from a different network? Can I?!:mad:

What more information would you like?

Specifically I'd like to know more about the production date. Was it one of the first iPhone 2G's sold? Or one of the last? Obviously it was made in 2007 so at least it was within the first year. What is the earlier known "production week" for an iPhone 2G?

I'm not sure how many production weeks there were for the iphone 8gb. I can tell you that, this specific one was produced in July. Why are you inquiring about this info anyway?

I also should mention that the clone was from another macBook that I'm trying to install in my new MacBook Pro (i7 quad).

We're beyond Winclone now it would seem.

Which Macbook was it that you took the image from? Windows doesn't usually like being relocated to new hardware (without SYSPREP) but when the machines are similar enough you might be able to get away with it.

So - been using Mail for some time and today it started doing the wierdest thing. Everytime new mail arrives from the server it will register in my INBOX (with the little number showing new messages) but the instant I click the INBOX, all the new mail disappears. It doesn't go to trash or junk, it just vanishes. I have searched all over for it and can't find it.


Try deleting your mail preference file in your home directory. I.e. the "com.apple.mail.plist" file in your /Users/"Home Directory"/Library/Preferences/ folder. Don't worry the file will replace itself. Deleting it just sets the application's preferences back to default. You might need to change your Mail application settings back to the way you want them and this might not solve your problem. I'd say give it a shot though. Deleting preference files seems to always solve problems I have with my applications. :D Remember the greatest risk is not taking one. If you don't compromise one thing you will always compromise another. I think deleting the preference file is the wise choice.

Edit: BTW you might want to check and see if your "INBOX.mbox" file is in the Users/"Home Directory"/Library/Mail/"POP mail"/ folder. If it isn't then this might be why the Mail program is getting rid of your Mail. If this is the case I'd delete the POP account from the Mail application (accessible from the Mail preferences) and then put it on again. If the "INBOX.mbox" file is still missing then get back to me and I'll give you a few more troubleshooting tips.
